Atex: Clevermac vacuum cleaners that meet the ATEX standard can be used where there is a risk of explosion of dust and/or gases. The models can be single-phase (220V) or three-phase (400V).

The simplest standard is the Atex dust explosion standard; it is also possible to meet explosive gas safety standards or both. Most models can be easily adapted to comply for use in category “3”; being zone 2-22 (EX II 3GD); some machines can comply for use in category “2”; or zone 1-21. As far as zone 1-21 is concerned, it may be necessary to switch to compressed-air-powered vacuum cleaners.
